A rare Chinese Export Carved Sandalwood Wall Plaque, circa 1830-1840.  Beautifully carved American Eagle on a Union Shield with arrows and olive branch in its talons.  Intricately carved border with ladies and gentlemen and foliate design.  Originally painted with gilt eagle and highlights, in oval form, 16-1/2" wide.

A similar plaque is in the collection of the Peabody Museum, Salem, MA.
